If you've come to this blog for even a short time, you've probably seen a photo like the one above. It's a shot I never cease to enjoy taking, though it is difficult to frame the shot correctly to capture the right blend of water, woods, and wild blue yonder. I leave it to you to tell me how well I did this time.
This view is looking north, and the scene is illuminated by the morning light that comes over the south ridge. There's a new cabin in the woods across the shore there, and we've cleared an avenue of trees in front of it so we can sit on the shady porch and see plenty of light and sky from the comfy chairs there.
After the cold of this week, I expect that the lake may be locked in with ice now. I hope to find out tomorrow first hand.
So enjoy the light of the world today.

You did a fabulous job!! The reflections in the water are breathtaking! And the colors and the sky — gorgeous!
Have a terrific weekend!

Such stillness to be able to record with such clarity. Even the wisps of cloud are reproduced in the depths of the water’s blue.
A wonderful image to lose myself in.

My teenaged daughter, currently taking an Advanced Photography class at the moment, would compliment you on using the “Rule of Thirds” perfectly!
What a gorgeous scene.
