"It's a pretty scruffy view," I said.
"But it's
our view," she said.
And that made all the difference!
Missouri calendar:

- The large yellow flowers of Missouri primrose bloom on Ozark glades.
Today in Missouri history:

That looks like a great place to just sit down and read a good book.

Cerdorum – I’ve never been able to read in the forest. Too much going on to concentrate.
Bill – The plan right now is to place it a bit more to the left of where I was standing to take the photo. A hundred feet or so.
Roger – And I glad for it!
Annie – Thanx. I was shooting into the sun, of course, so that made it look not so perfect. But as the post points out, my perspective has changed.

I think that’s a very nice view. Not scruffy, for sure. It will even be better once summer gets here. It’s been raining quite a bit where I am, too. I don’t mind the rain, but I sure wish it would rain almost as much during the hot summer months!

I believe the western most battle of the Revolutionary war was fought at the area between where the Rock River empties into the Mississippi near present day Rock Island, IL. Rock Island is further west than St Louis.
