While I was busy improving my southern defenses, the attack came from the west. And it came in a tank !

“Violation” indeed.

We have this sort of thing happen from time to time at Bluff Spring Fen, and it always really cheeses me off. In general, my experience has been that they almost always know that they aren’t supposed to be there. I’ll stop here before I start leaving bad language in your comments.

I’ve never understood how some people just don’t care when they do something destructive and hurtful to others.

When I see something like that, I’m always thankful that I wasn’t there when it happened. I would be afraid that I would fly off the handle and do something that I regret.

That infuriates me, pablo. It is a violation and really quite an outrageous one at that. I wish you could identify the culprits and have them repair some of the damage, or do community service. Aaarggh. What’s wrong with people?

Use your game camera.

Hey, I’m with everyone else. That is a violation; people plain and simple should have more respect and not be pulling that kind of crap. FC has a good idea.

The game cam is a good idea but HIDE it well. If they see a flash or hear anything I’m sure they will go looking for it. After studying the pics it does look like some type of machinery to me. I find it hard to believe that an ATV could take down a tree that size unless it was in poor health. The way it was skinned all the way down would indicate a low riding machine such as a Bobcat or backhoe with the front bucket down. Most ATVs sit up higher so they won’t drag on stuff. Very odd though.

People can be such jerks.

Unfortunately, nothing surprises me anymore.

Shoot the interlopers, Pablo. That’s what I do with trespassers, and it has greatly reduced the frequency. Compost them in the woods and plant a nice pine to commemorate their contribution.

Frustrating. Hopefully they damaged their vehicle badly and it will cost them a lot to repair it. Hopefully it is their vehicle. Even better is if it is their father’s and he deals with them…

Gah, that’s frustrating… Did you get to talk to the neighbor?

Grrr.
This kind of stuff makes me insane.
So sorry for you and your land.
