season of spiders

The spiderworts are blooming at Roundrock. Actually, they’re about done blooming now, but I’m always grateful when I see them, and a few have lingered a little later than normal.

They’re common in the sunny areas, especially where the soil is moist. This one was near the pine plantation.

    I have something in my backyard that looks very much like this but I’m not sure it is the same thing. It started coming up years ago, likely from putting birdseed out back.

    It turns out mine are Asiatic day flowers. Huh!
